A Decade of Getting It Surveyed: Survey Grade GIS: In 2010 the Tribes of the Rocky Mountain Region, including the Blackfeet, Gros Ventre and Assiniboine, Assiniboine and Sioux, and Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho envisioned a union of scalable technology and cost efficiency that would enhance the collection, storage, and visualization of their resources and thus the Rocky Mountain Tribal Mapping Team was born.
The Tribal Team won the Montana ACEC Outstanding Project Award in the Survey Category in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2020 and 2022. They got a governor's award in 2019 and got ACEC national recognition in 2022.
